Answer: Alcohol Abuse: Audience: Year 10 Students The use of alcohol is one of the most used drugs all over the world and also one of the most dangerous drugs to use. Statistics shows that 6000 Australians die due to alcohol related complications, especially alcohol related disease. This leaves alcohol one of the leading causes of death in the country. This was a study carried out by the National Drug Research Institute at WA’s Curtin University. It is important to learn effects of alcohol consumption among the youths within the country and all over the world. Alcohol has different negative impact to a user. They can be broadly be classified into internal harmful effects of alcohol use and external harmful effects of alcohol to the users. The internal harmful effects are those effects personal to the user or physically affects the user such as exposure to different diseases among other mostly health related cases. On the other hand, external harmful effects are those that do not affect the user directly but affects the environment around them for example the family members of the and the community at large. The diagram below covers multiple organs in the body that areaffected by the excessiv consuption of alcohol. Brain: this is one of the most affected areas in the human body especially for thee young teens whose brains have not completely matured. The consumption of alcohol leads to the most common problems associated with the consumption of alcohol. These includes; memory loss, excessive consumption also causes mood swings. Also, too much consumption of alcohol causes brain dementia, this can be defined as a group of think and social symptoms that interfere with the daily functioning of a person. The diagram below helps one understand how the consumption of alcohol affects different parts of the brain.it is evident that the effects alcohol has on the human brain are multiple hence making it a deadlier drug to associate with. Conclusively the consumption of alcohol affects, coordination, movement, sensation, judgment, reward, memory as well as vision. Consumption of alcohol also affects the heart of the consumer in different ways which are briefly discussed below. The excessive consumption of alcohol causes irregular heart rates, strokes and high blood pressure. These are the leading causes of deaths associated with the use of alcohol. This leads to heart failure with the continued use of alcohol for the uses. For the external impact of alcohol consumption, the community has been significantly affected. The use of alcohol among the teens has greatly lead to the increase in social evils within the community. This has been happening especially among the youth due to lack of capital to purchase alcohol. Due to these reasons, many communities have been faced with high crime rates which increase the number of deaths among other criminal related incidences. The use of alcohol has also led to the rise of teen prostitution in many communities also to help the users fund their addiction. For the female gender, this has significantly affected so many communities and in the process led to the rise of disease. Such social crimes like prostitution has led to the rise of disease such as STDs among other diseases. Alcohol consumption has other effects also to the family members of the users. The family members receive the first-hand experience with alcoholic uses and the cases involving young teen affects the families more. The families are tasked with taking the children to rehabilitation centers to try and rehabilitate them, the parents also are financially strained while they try to sort out professional help for their children due t the addiction. It is also important to mention that the use of alcohol introduces one to other drugs which can lead to other drug related conditions and effects and leading to more harm to the user as well as the community. Identifying the main cause of teen using drug is a topic that is worth addressing while educating young people on the effects of alcohol. Some of the main causes of the rise in consumption of alcohol among the youth is the ease of access to alcohol. In most household’s alcohol is easily accessible for the young children. This is a case that the family’s needs to address and figure out how to address the issue. The other cause of the increase in use of alcohol for the young population in the community is the wrong publicity of alcohol. Alcohol has had a misleading publicity approach today in the community, this has led to most of the teens seeing the use of alcohol as a positive thing. The other leading cause of alcohol use for the young teens is the peer pressure experienced at the age. Research shows that most of the young drinkers end up drinking due to the pressure from their peers. Understanding the harm associated with the use of alcohol is the best approach to help educate the young community and help keep them off drugs. Alcohol as been seen to introduce users to other harmful drugs. Educative approach becomes the best approach to help the young community understand the dangers associated with the use of Alcohol and other drugs.
