Answer Visitors form an integral part of the recovery process for the patients are welcome within a hospital-setting (Khaleghparast et al. 2016). Studies have reported that the involvement of the visitors accelerate the recovery process and at the same time reduce elements of anxiety and stress, so as to render a positive mental health (Shulkin et al. 2014). In general, hospitals have a stipulated time frame allotted for patient-visit, however, many healthcare organization have now included open visiting hours without any restriction of the time frame. This has been done to allow the primary care providers of the patient to closely monitor the progress in the health condition of the patient. According to my perspective, open visiting hours must be encouraged, as the involvement of the dear ones of the patient help in assisting the patient with care. At the same time, it renders a relaxed atmosphere that maintains the psychological wellness of the patient. However, the system must be monitored through stringent surveillance. In addition to this, the hospitals must observe strict rules so as to ensure that the privacy of the patient is not being infringed and the safety of the patient is not at stake. CCTV footages should be constantly monitored by the administrative department of the hospital so as to spontaneously detect any ambiguity in the appearance or trait of the visitors. Further, the patients consent must be taken into consideration and unwanted visitors should not be allowed to visit the patients. On arriving at the hospital, the visitors must report to the administrative desk and proceed for the visit, only under the supervision of a care professional. The visitors must maintain basic hygiene standards such as hand hygiene under the supervision of care providers and respect the basic security norms. Hence, to conclude, it can be said that hospitals are at an increased risk of vulnerable threats from antisocial visitors. Therefore, hospitals that allow open visiting hours must tighten the security system to render a positive and safe care environment.
