Answer: Opioids deaths have been described as a national opioids epidemic in the United States of America as they have claimed more lives than HIV did at its peak and more than the other lead causes of deaths. Opioids abuse have led to under 50-year-old deaths, with least 64,000 deaths recorded last year. This probed the president, Donald J. Trump to declare it a public health emergency though the pledge for August federal funds has yet to be honored. The rise probed news media outlets to do more research into how the drug become so overused, the people responsible for the current states and what has and can be done to deal with the situations. New York Times discovered from medical autopsy reports that New Hampshire recorded most deaths amongst all states. The use has been pinned on doctors and drugs companies and insurers for promoting and availing the drug more than its cure. Also, most inmates have been denied the treatment while incarceration. However, State Island and Connecticut detention centers have tried administering methadone medication to treat the abuse and help inmates re-enter the society. People like Dr. Thomas and even some members of the law enforcement are trying to create awareness in order to reduce and ultimately stop the drug overdose and abuse that has claimed the lives of kids who had been taking their parents opioids medication and buying the medication online as it was recorded in reddit forum.
